Supervision

The clinical supervision I offer supports those who work in the helping professions and my experience includes working with counsellors, student counsellors, support workers and nursing staff, both privately and within an organisational setting.

Finding the right supervisor can be a daunting process I therefore offer a free, no-obligation, initial session to ensure the establishment of an effective working alliance.

As a supervisor, my goals are to facilitate a supervisee’s process of exploration and reflection on their work and therapeutic relationships, to aid the development of their own ‘internal supervisor’ and to also support supervisees in taking care of their own well-being, as well as that of their clients.

I have completed supervision training with CSTD Bath (Center for Supervision, Training and Development) and have obtained a Diploma Award. CSTD Bath is endorsed by The United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy as a 'Recognised Supervisor Training' and meets all UKCP's requirements for Supervision Training.

The supervision model that informs my practice is the 'Seven Eyed' model, a relational process model developed by Peter Hawkins and Robin Shohet, and is so named as there are seven main aspects of focus. These aspects ensure that the many varied complexities that may present when working with supervisees' are taken into account, thus providing a robust and secure base for the work.

I offer supervision groups for counsellors and student counsellors which are three hours in duration, with a maximum of four participants. This group structure fulfils both NCS and BACP ratio criteria for supervision to counselling practice hours.

To compliment my supervision practice and to support the work of my supervisees, should a pressing need arise, I also offer ad-hock telephone or online support.

Due to the continuing vulnerability of some to the Corona and Flu viruses, and in order to safeguard supervisees and minimise social contact, I am continuing to offer online virtual supervision sessions via the Zoom virtual meeting platform if this is preferred to face-to-face supervision.

The fee for supervision sessions is £50 per hour, concessions are available for students and those working within the voluntary or charity sectors. The fee for writing student reports is £45 per report.
